Now Campaigners opposed to the introduction of Value Added Tax next year met last night and formed a new association representing every business and professional sector in the Turks and Caicos. The organization, is yet without a name, intends to become the major lobby group for the business industry and is to seek ongoing dialogue with the government not only the issue of VAT but also matters where it believes the economy may be at risk. Today in a special VAT program, which you can see immediately after the News, tourist industry spokesperson Stacy Cox made it clear that her sector is opposed to the introduction of VAT despite government, claims that it is working with the interim administration to facilitate its introduction.
